We hired Cullen Electric to replace the Knob & Tube wiring that was throughout most of our house.
We live in a two-story house with a full basement in Cheviot. It is a brick home w/ plaster walls & a poured concrete foundation. It was NOT an easy house to rewire. And yet Cullen's Team (led by Lili) did an absolutely amazing job! I've seen the results online & in-person of other company's knob & tube replacement. There are holes everywhere to fill & repairs that need to be done after the job is done. Holes are a given in this situation. But Cullen was able to keep this to an absolute minimum even at the expense of greater time spent by their installers. They are willing to use one hole & a lot of extra effort to feed multiple wires to avoid having to punch additional holes.
All told Cullen cut less than 15 holes in my entire house & installed new outlets in every room, hardwired smoke/CO meters, recessed lighting in the living room, and much, much more.
They are not going to be the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. In chatting even with their employees you get the sense immediately that they appreciate the company. They are paid well, get health insurance, and feel like they are valued by the company. You can pay someone $20/hr to work for you...but you'll get a $20/hr job done & you won't have them working for you for long because they'll be looking to move on as soon as their offered $25/hr to work somewhere else. Cullen has people working for the company for years & years which says a lot.
Anyway, I will be using Cullen for any electrical needs I have in the future and would, without hesitation, use them for this install again.

Andy, I had to immediately express how impressive Lilly is, a force of nature as a difference making go-to-gal with the heart, passion, people skills, smarts and resourceful that must not surprise but delight you. What a not-so-secret weapon, count your blessings!

I cant say enough good things about Cullen Electric. Andy was prompt to return my call and scheduled to come out the next day to review the job and all my questions and concerns and set up an appointment as soon as I looked at his proposal. His team (two wonderful women Lily and Giselle) were a joy to have in my home because not only were they hard working courteous and fast but neat and thoughtful even suggesting ways to complete the job with the least amount of damage to the textured ceiling even if it was more time consuming for them. They worked as if it were for their own home. I wish Cullen and his team were also plumbers and carpenters, because I would never need to call anyone else.

I had an emergency. Out of town guests visiting , and power was out, at 8pm. Andy and Lily were here in 45 minutes stayed tested and resolved the problem. This was as good an experience as it gets. Awesome Electricians.

These folks were fantastic! We really appreciate all the work they did for us. They were super up-front about costs, going so far as to break up our “wish list” into separate sections on the quote, so that we could prioritize what we needed to. They were professional, friendly, and efficient. Plus, the amount of work they did was astonishing, compared to the very small number of holes they made! … I would highly recommend them to anyone.

$109 of the cost was for the Warren County permit. Cullen obtained the permit, coordinated with Duke to shut off and restart the service. Cullen dug up the sunken line to relieve tension, corrected the damage done by the underground conduit sinking, installed an adjustable sleeve to prevent future damage and extended/repaired wiring in the outdoor box to meet codes. When Duke failed to turn on power in a timely manner Cullen called to determine why and coordinated with Warren County & Duke to get the power back on as soon as possible. Cullen worked in frigid icy weather to get this job done for me in time to close the sale of the property when others I contacted said NO.

Andrew and his crew came out on one of the coldest days this year just after the first snow and ice storm through the area. He was reluctant to get started at first since there was snow and ice on the roof (where he would have to spend most of his time that day to replace the old service pole with a new 200 Amp service pole. He threw down some salt on the roof to melt the ice and began working that day. I was very impressed with this. The final result looks great. All the wires inside the panel are neatly organized and shaped to allow for easy identification in the future if needed. His price was half that of Cooper Electric and well under other competitive quotes received. I was very impressed with Andrew and his team and would hire them again in a heartbeat.

All of the people we spoke to on the phone and that came to our home were very polite and professional, and eager to help get to us as quickly as possible. We were very pleased with their service and would definitely hire them again.

I had just moved into a new condo and had some problems with the wiring in the kitchen. I found Cullen Electric online and went with them because they are family owned and backed up the Better Business Bureau. They sent someone out the very nice day. They arrived on time and were very helpful, friendly and professional. They explained everything very well and replaced an outlet in the kitchen. Now everything is working great. They rate was very affordable as well. I will definitely go with them again for any other electrical problems and will recommend them to anyone needing their services. Very happy!

I had called another company, which acted as if my concerns of safety and need for power in my home were a major inconvenience and which started the conversation with how very expensive this type of emergency service was going to be, requiring their people to have to work after hours. So, I called Cullen Electric and was treated much differently. The woman who answered the phone was sympathetic to my concerns, listened patiently and then got Andrew on the phone to answer my specific questions about safety first. Lili and Tyler came out to assess the situation that afternoon. They were both prompt and very nice to work with. Lili expressed concern for my situation, made sure that I had safe power (dry breakers) for the necessities for the evening and immediately ordered all the parts necessary for complete service replacement for the next day. She and Tyler returned at the agreed upon time the next morning and made short order of replacing all the water damaged parts from the roof to the basement. They were clean, tidy and professional – worried about protecting my home, carpeting and pets. After discussing the cost of the service replacement with others, it seems the price was close to what others have had to pay – it was just an unexpected expense to me. However, it is worth it considering the urgency of my situation and the confidence Cullen Electric instilled in me with their courteous and very prompt service.
